What a delight to find Thierry's divine work in this unique and nearly extinct art - the Blue Terre Melee Bowl is the art of combining stamped clays that are colored with oxides. This technique dates back to the 18th century and the plates final look are the result of many hours of highly skilled work.

Clays are prepared slowly for no more than 3 to 4 plates at a time. Once moulded in their respective shapes, the clay is thinned by scraping, sanded at length before 2 rounds of firing with a transparent glaze. When complete, the result are these remarkable wonders of earth and fire. Listing is for individual bowl.
